# Change User Password via REST API?

In the Mautic REST API docs, the [CREATE USER](https://developer.mautic.org/#create-user) endpoint allows setting the new user’s password using the “plainPassword” property.

However the [EDIT USER](https://developer.mautic.org/#edit-user) endpoint does not seem to offer this property.

Is it possible to update a pre-existing Mautic User’s password via the REST API?

I mean you can always extend mauti cand add additional endpoint to update the password.

With current api I do not think its possible.
