# Cn we charge for the custom modification of a code for a customer

How it works if a customer wants to change the code and we provide that as a patch. we issue mastic in public GNU as per same terms,but charge for patch alone.

Hi Ram

You’re free to bill your customers for any services you provide to them directly. As long as you’re not promising that they have an exclusive right to the code you produce (which if its on mautic, you can’t because of the GPL) then you wouldn’t be any any sort of conflict.

Note: In general its best to consult a lawyer with this, as we definitely can’t be liable for legal advice / consulting.
