# Creating contacts with custom fields

I am new to mautic and I am trying to add the field ‘Industry’ into contacts. In custom fields I can see ‘industry’ under the group ‘proffesional’ but in the contacts page I have only ‘core’ and ‘social’ group. How to add ‘industry’ into the contact fields?

Hi

Industry in the current Mautic configuration is sitting under Companies and not Contacts:

I do not think you can edit this Object type, so if you would like to have industry under a specific contact, you would have to go ahead and create a new custom field and name it industry1 or something like that, then you will see it under your contacts records.
