# Email connection issue

**Your problem**

I am trying to connect Mautic to Elastic Email. I have searched this topic within this forum and found posts that were quite dated.

While trying to configure mail settings, I made sure to select “Other SMTP server” and SMTP host [smtp.elasticemail.com](http://smtp.elasticemail.com). The following error displays when I click “Test Connection”:

Connection could not be established with host [smtp25.elasticemail.com](http://smtp25.elasticemail.com) :stream\_socket\_client(): unable to connect to [smtp25.elasticemail.com:0](http://smtp25.elasticemail.com:0) (Connection timed out) Log data: ++ Starting Swift\_SmtpTransport !! Connection could not be established with host [smtp25.elasticemail.com](http://smtp25.elasticemail.com) :stream\_socket\_client(): unable to connect to [smtp25.elasticemail.com:0](http://smtp25.elasticemail.com:0) (Connection timed out) (code: 0)

My webhost is GoDaddy. I have been told that it is likely that the SMTP ports are blocked. I tried ports 25, 2525, 587, and 465.

Are there any suggestions on what I could do to get Elastic Email to work; or is there another email service that I can use with GoDaddy without running into complications? As of now switching to another webhost is not an option.
