# Faster way to update contacts in a segment

**Your software**  
My Mautic version is: 5.2.7  
My PHP version is: 8.2.29  
My Database type and version is: MariaDB Operator

**Your problem**  
My problem is: I’m attempting to update 4 Mautic fields in a segment. However, when attempting to pull the contacts from the segment, it claims there are no contacts in the segment despite there being about 548 contacts in it.

Is there a good way to do it that doesn’t require going contact by contact via checking if they have an email address? Because that method takes roughly 30 minutes for 548 contacts, which is an awful long time.
