# Form Action to PURGE a contact's field value

My idea is: Like we can UPDATE a specific value for a contact, it would be nice to be able to DELETE that value. (Not sure it should be part of the “UPDATE” action - might overload the UI)

I think these groups of people would benefit from this idea: Campaign designers

Why I think they would benefit from this idea: It’s a missing feature, people are looking for it. Maybe they give up, maybe they are forced to use silly workarounds.

This exists as a pull request, but needs to be updated to make sure it’s still compatible/relevant with M3: [https://github.com/mautic/mautic/pull/6805](https://github.com/mautic/mautic/pull/6805)

@kuzmany did a ton of work on this and it looks great. I’ve been expecting this for the last three M2 releases and was very disappointed it didn’t make it in. I would have gladly contributed testing or help had I known it was going to repeatedly get bumped at the last minute.

I’d love to know what we need to do to make this a priority in M3.
