# Forwarded emails showing many different IP's

**Your software**  
My Mautic version is: v2.16.0  
My PHP version is: 7.2.29

**Your problem**  
My problem is:  
Is it normal if an email recipient receives the original email and then forwards it to another party, that in the original recipients contact record it would show the “forwarded to” recipient’s ip address if they click on a link this forwarded email, and displays that information as “Accessed from IP” for that original recipient’s contact record?

Is that why I’m seeing many, many “Accessed from IP” for an email that went viral for that user?
