# Holiday email supression

**The idea** is not new. It’s a feature in pardot called Holiday email supression.  
On Xmas no emails should be send out for some campaigns.

**I think these groups of people would benefit from this idea:**  
Proprietary marketing automation users willing to switch to Mautic.

**Why I think they would benefit from this idea:**  
Feature parity

**Are you willing to work on this idea?:**  
Yes

**How they want it to work.**  
→ Create supression lists (lists of dates)  
for example:

- Belgium (with the Belgium holidays and bankholidays),
- France (with the french holidays and bankholidays)

→ Link a campaign or segment into a supression list

- Either from the supression interface or from the segment/campaign interface

When Emails are about to be sent, and it is a holiday, leave the email for the next day.  
so the cron does not process this segment/campaign on the hiliday.

Current workaround:

Smart shell command that only activates cron on non-holidays
