# How does associating a company to a contact work?

Hi everyone,

I’m using **Magento 2.4.4** with the **Mautic Extension v2.1.11** integration.  
Contact synchronization and field mapping work correctly, but I don’t understand how a company gets associated with a contact.

Currently, I don’t have any companies created in the “Companies” section of Mautic. The only thing I’ve done is map the _company_ field from Magento contacts to the _Primary Company_ field in Mautic, but nothing happens:

- companies are not created,

- contacts are not linked to a company.

So my question is: **what am I doing wrong?** How does associating a contact with a company work properly in Mautic?

For reference, I’m using **Mautic 6.0**.
