# How to create Segments?

**Your software**  
My Mautic version is: v2.16.5  
My PHP version is: 7.3.33  
My Database type and version is: MySql

**Your problem**  
On my contacts, I have a field called “Books Purchased”

I would like to create a segment of users that have “Spanish Word Search” as the value for “Books Purchased”.

To do this, I go to Segments \> New. I then enter the details as follows:

However, when I save it, it says “no contacts” even though I have several contacts where the field “Books Purchased” is set to “Spanish Word Search”.

What am I doing wrong?

You need to make sure you have a cron job running in the background. (actually many)
