Hello there,  
  
Just tried to install online 1.4.1 and I get this error.  
  
The site is currently offline due to encountering an error. If the problem persists, please contact the system administrator.  
  
Mautic 1.4.1 Apache/2.4.6 (CentOS) OpenSSL/1.0.1e-fips mod\_fcgid/2.3.9 PHP/5.4.16  
  
  
  
where do I start? /etc/httpd/logs/error\_log?

The problem in this case was caused by extracting mautic .zip file online.  
The server assigned owner/group to root.  
When I realised that, I manually changed all folders to correct owener:group and all worked fine.
