**Your software** My Mautic version is: 5.1 My PHP version is: 8.0 My Database type and version is: mariadb 10.5 mysql 5.7 **Your problem** My problem is: I get invalid login at first login attempt using default mautic login credentials. Looking in database shows no users These errors are showing in the log: invalid login on login page Steps I have tried to fix the problem: tried all sorts of things, clearing cache, resetting permissions, even exporting then importing a valid user from another mautic installation and nothing works. ---

I just started over and installed from command line instead of composer and everything worked. So disregard this. ---

Hey @chrisb_hallcomm , I feel your frustration here, this actual thing happened to me as well. Instead of re-installing i went ahead and added a new user via mysql. I also understand the headache many have with composer, i wrote a blog post which is pretty full proof on installtion of Mautic 5 on [mailertizer](https://mailertizer.com/how-to-install-mautic-5-2-1-on-digitalocean-ubuntu-24-04-lts-with-nginx-php8-1-fpm-composer-node-js-and-npm/). ---

Hey thanks for that link! I’m REALLY struggling trying to upgrade 4.4.13 to 5.x. But I reached out to Joey Keller and I think he’s going to help me with this client. I’m just not proficient enough with databases, servers etc. I know quite a bit but our client’s installation has gotten way bigger than we imagined 4 years ago when we took them on as a client. We started with 25-30,000 contacts and now we have almost 3 million. We started with sending a few thousand emails and a handful of campaigns a week and now we’re sending 3 million a month and 36 million last year. And they require all sorts of compliance and have to retain info for 3 years (financial services firm) so the database gets huge and needs cleaning and export of data prior to satisfy government compliance requirements. WAAAYYY too much information but it’s gotten beyond my skills. That said, Mautic has gotten so much more difficult to install over the last couple years. I run multiple instances for clients and before V4.x it was a breeze to install. Thanks again for the link and reply! Chris
