# Invites to Calendar Events (Idea List)

**My idea is** :

In the interest of sharing ideas, let’s make a list of best-practice approaches to sending out calendar invites to recipients from within Mautic

I’ll start:

Write a \*.ics file (that’s an iCalendar event format) and save it to the `Assets` in Mautic. That can be attached manually now, or to a Segment email, or programmatically within Campaigns.

But honestly I don’t use the attachments in Mautic much, because it’s not consistently ported through to the sender, and even when it does, we don’t get good engagement data on an email attachment. So I opt to _link_ the `Asset` in the email. An added benefit here is we can see _how many times_ a contact opened the Asset.

I’d love to hear how you’re using Mautic to send out cal invites. I’m really trying to broaden my horizon on this topic.
