# Issue with cron job: mautic:emails:send

php 8.0  
mautic 4.4.8

error I get when I run mautic:emails:send

[root@vps ~]# /usr/local/bin/php /home/tsquare/public\_html/mautic/bin/console mautic:emails:send

In bootstrap80.php line 21:

mb\_encode\_mimeheader(): Return value must be of type string, null returned

I confirm that php mbstring is not installed. Is it mandatory?

As we always wait for super-stable release for production, we use mostly php 7.4. I can confirm, that mbstring is installed. On the few php8.0 installs I have I also have mbstring. No problems.

I have now successfully installed the mbstring for PHP8.0 through Easy Apache4 interface in WHM. Please refer the screenshot for the confirmation:

mautic:emails:send is now working.
