# Mautic on siteground?

Hi, I installed mautic on siteground hosting, for using it with amazon ses.  
  
Everything went ok, except that emails delivering doesn’t work.  
  
  
  
If in the email settings area I set amazon ses as other smtp, the mautic indicator continues to spin without complete the process.  
  
  
  
If I use the credential of the hosting server (just for test, because anyway I need amazon), nevertheless the result of test connection and test send is success, when I try to send a real email, the result is the message is: "Sender verify failed !! Expected response code 250/251/252 but got code “550”, with message “550-Verification failed for 550-No Such User Here.” I found similar error on this blog but not pratical solutions.  
  
  
  
I already asked to server and double checked every single possible configuration.  
  
  
  
I eventually started to guess that a problem should exist between mautic and siteground. Anyone knows if there is a known bug?  
  
Should I change server?  
  
What can I do?  
  
Do you have suggestions?  
  
Anyone is available to try to help me hands on?

Nope, it’s your settings. Most likely the mautic user account email is not verified. Change that to the verified email and it should work.

Just to make sure: Did you use the separately created Amazon SES SMTP credentials? It should not be your Amazon AWS credentials. Amazon SES works fine with our selfhosted Mautic.

@dirk_s: yes, I used the SES SMTP credentials, TLS, port, and the server name: [email-smtp.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com](http://email-smtp.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com) (Ireland) as described in the amazon instructions.

@Adam: the email address is marked as verified in amazon ses. are you talking about any other verification process inside mautic, other than amazon ses verification?

Just to be precise only the email is verified, not the domain. It should be this?

But I still think that the problem should be outside amazon because the error “550-Verification failed for 550-No Such User Here.” is shown trying to send email through the siteground SMTP (but the test connection is success)…  
… trying with amazon it returns no message (doesn’t complete the process).

I installed mautic in a subdomain (not in a folder). Isn’t possible that the issue is related to that, right?

Has anyone figured this out yet?

I’m having this same issue - on 3 different Mautic installs (of various versions), all hosted on Siteground. Everything is correct: followed all steps for setting up AmazonSES for Mautic, and I input the credentials and no matter what it just spins forever. I tried this with another email service provider as well, and it just spins. No error messages. PHP Sendmail, however, does work.

It also won’t connect to the monitored email box. It just fails.

It seems like the same issue that was happening when Mautic released 2.6, which they fixed in 2.6.1. And my code is definitely the “fixed” code, but it’s still just spinning.

I have had this same issue just recently. Rather than selecting Amazon SES, select Other SMTP. Then enter your SES credentials.

That fixed the problem for me.

The reason why configuring SES on Siteground using the “Amazon SES” option from the drop down menu does not work is because Siteground (and many other shared hosts) blocks the SMTP port in Mautic’s Amazon Transport code. Using “Other SMTP” with an alternate port can work, but you **lose the ability to track bounces & complaints** using HTTP callbacks.

The **best option** is to move away from a shared host that blocks arbitrary ports, to a VPS.  
If that is not possible, manually modify the Amazon Transport code from the backend (`Mautic\EmailBundle\Swiftmailer\Transport\AmazonTransport`). The patch will only work until the next Mautic update, however, at which time it will be overwritten by the update process - and need to be patched again.

Wow I didn’t know about this. Thank you autoize for the helpful tip. I have already transitioned into a VPS, so I shouldn’t have to worry about the manual modification for the Amazon Transport code.
