# Mautic Security

I am new to Mautic and have just setup my first site. One of my main concerns / questions I have is around the security of Matuic. Just how secure is it? Considering some of the data entered may be deemed to be confidential, is it a safe place to store confidential data. Do you have any tips for securing your installation and do you leave your Mautic site publicly facing on the web? Obviously it can be locked down but this may cause problems when viewing email campaigns.
