**Your software**
My Mautic version is: 2.16.2
My PHP version is: 7.1.27

**Your problem**
My problem is: My Mautic account is showing hundred of anonymous contacts, these contacts don’t have any information about them except their IP address. Is this a common problem? I have deduced that the bots are probably hitting Mautic directly.

Steps I have tried to fix the problem:
Disabled published forms that weren’t being used
Determined it is not coming from the API

Yep, that’s common.
To get rid of that, see “Single-Click Users” in [https://www.leuchtfeuer.com/en/mautic-know-how/mautic/mautic-database-housekeeping/](https://www.leuchtfeuer.com/en/mautic-know-how/mautic/mautic-database-housekeeping/)

Hey welcome to the community.
If you don’t want to track the Mautic instance visits you can also restrict the IP
As per this comment by @backseat

> [@Dashboard graphs show incorrect contact and visit numbers](https://forum.mautic.org/t/dashboard-graphs-show-incorrect-contact-and-visit-numbers/13679/7):

> For anyone else that records false visit numbers because of website monitoring, the solution is to go to Settings, Configuration, System Settings and add the monitoring IP addresses/subnets to “List of IPs to not track contacts with (one per line)” under “Miscellaneous Settings”.
