# Optimize MySQL

Has anyone tinkered with optimizing the MySQL conf for Mautic? Anything you could share to make it fastest? For example the timeout settings, pruning, etc?

Yes, in fact I only use mysqltuner to monitor the variables but take the advise with a grain of salt. The question was among the lines of what works best. For example, I have optimised databases for WP and for Magento and the settings are quite different (Magento’s queries take ages so the timeouts need to be much longer), hence the question if anyone had recommendations about Mautic.
