# Preinstallation check fails on PHP 8.3.17

**Your software** Mautic 4.1.10  
_My PHP version is_ :8.3.17-nmm1

**Updating/Installing Errors**  
Prerequisite check for update to Mautic 5 fails even though required PHP version is present

_One or more errors occurred while checking your environment prior to updating Mautic:_

_Your PHP version is too old or too new for Mautic to update. You are currently running PHP 8.3.17-nmm1. Please make sure that your version is between 8.1.0 and 8.3.99_  
_These errors are showing in the Mautic log_ :

**Your problem**  
This Version should be supported per Documentation, I have the impression that the Version Suffix -nmm1 is causing the issue.

Would be interested to understand how this is handled and if there is a way to modify behaviour (e.g. the version check)
