# Progressive Profiling - Using URL Token

All,
I’m about about to dive into a project that needs progressive profiling. It looks like I’ll get to roll out my first real mautic install!!!
One thing I’m curious about; Is it possible to identify someone from a URL with a token on it (e.g. //https://mymautic.com/formx.html?cid=1254) rather than just a cookie. People tend to access sites from many devices and it would be great to identify and cookie the customer on each device.
