# Removing mautic supplied themes and plugins from a composer based install?

**Your software**  
My Mautic version is: 5.1.0  
My PHP version is: 8.2  
My Database type and version is: MariaDB 10.11

I would like to keep the interface simple so I would like to remove some plugins. I would like to make it impossible for a power user to use the wrong theme.

Having installed Mautic via composer, is it safe to remove themes and plugins that I don’t plan to use?  
I suspect the answer is yes for themes, how about plugins?

Because of some errors in the past, have deleted several of the plugins and mautic kept working without issues.

In any case backup the full directory and test.
