# Segment contacts excluding multiple tags

My Mautic version is: 5.2.1  
My PHP version is: 8.1.31  
My Database type and version is: 10.11.11-MariaDB-0ubuntu0.24.04.2

**Your problem**  
My problem is:

I want to create a new contact segment formed of all those contact that are not tagged with either TAG1, TAG2 or TAG3.

I created the segment filtering contacts by tag using the `excluding` option and selected each tag as a value. I also tried individual conditions combined using AND.

In every case, the segment wouldn’t stop growing, to the point where it had more contacts that the total I have on my database…

What am I doing wrong?
