# Segment Not showing while creating email

**Your software**  
My Mautic version is:latest  
My PHP version is: 7.4.30  
My Database type and version is:mysql

My problem is:  
while creating an email in mautic i am only able to see the category section the segment section is not showing what to do?

What kind of email are you creating - template or segment?

If you are creating a template email, ie one that will be sent vai campaign actions, then the optiom to select a segment is not applicable and so not present. U will only be presented with the option to select a segment when creating a segment email.
