Hey everyone im very new to mautic.  
  
i would like to know with the shelf hosted setup, will i need DKIM Signing setup - if yes how to i go about doing it?

Yes, you will need to setup DKIMif you want to have the best delivery rated. And the DKIM information and setup will be provided by the company you choose (Amazon SES, Sendgrid, Sparkpost etc)

Thanks Ninjoan! this might seem stupid of me, but i’m not sure, as i don’t know, but say, i want to use my vps smtp server to send mail, do i still need to set it up then? please forgive me for my ignorance!

Yes if you wanna try to get the better delivery rate you must do that. DKIMm DMAR is the way to authenticate that the email send is from a trusted source more info here
