# SMTP configuration failed

Hi,  
  
I’m Luca from Milan, Italy.  
  
I am having difficulty configuring the email in Mautic. This is the message that appears when i do the ‘Connection Test’:  
  
  
  
‘_Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username “luca@comprooromilano.info” using 2 possible authenticators_  
  
_++ Starting Swift\_SmtpTransport \<\< 220-am15.siteground.biz ESMTP #4 Wed, 09 Nov 2016 11:47:06 +0100 220-We do not authorize the use of this system to transport unsolicited, 220 and/or bulk e-mail. \>\> EHLO www.comprooromilano.info \<\< 250-am15.siteground.biz Hello www.comprooromilano.info [107.6.153.242] 250-SIZE 52428800 250-8BITMIME 250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN 250 HELP \>\> AUTH LOGIN \<\< 334 VXNlcm5hbWU6 \>\> bHVjYUBjb21wcm9vcm9taWxhbm8uaW5mbw== \<\< 334 UGFzc3dvcmQ6 \>\> KExvcmxlcmNob2hlOCk= \<\< 535 Incorrect authentication data !! I tried to change the SMTP, but doesn’t work.  
  
I’m using Siteground server.
