# SMTP  Configuration issue in Google cloud

Hi All,  
  
  
  
Installed Mautic on Google Cloud System using Bitnami.  
  
  
  
While trying to configure Other SMTP & test following error occurred (tried using Godaddy and hostdepartment servers, all in vain)  
  
  
  
**Log data: ++ Starting Swift\_SmtpTransport !! Connection could not be established with host [Connection timed out #110]**  
  
   
  
  
  
Tried to send using

1. PhpMail, message sending failed.  
2. SendMail, message sent but not delivered  
  
  
  
  
  
_Prior to sending, carried out following steps_  
  
   
3. Created List  
4. Added 8 email ids to the list  
5. Created test mail (List Mail) conversation  
6. Published and tried to send

Hi All,

It seems that the SMTP host does not respond. The PhpMail is quite hard to configure on a VPS (for me) so I cannot tell you what could went wrong there. Try to use GMail if you have one. Also, check the server error log and Mautic log at app/logs/ folder if there is any error message which could tell us more.
