# SMTP Connections

Hi, I’m using a third-party smtp server to send the e-mails, and i’m wondering how does mautic handle connections to my smtp server.  
  
  
  
Does it open one connection and then send all the messages, or does it open one connection, send one message, and then disconnects?  
  
  
  
I’m asking this because my smtp server is complaining that i make too many connections, but i have other applications using this same server.
