# Tracking Pixel or JS Code?

Short question:  
  
  
  
In the documentation [https://www.mautic.org/getting-started/](https://www.mautic.org/getting-started/) a trackign pixel is mentioned.  
  
In my system at settings/landingpage settings a JS code is offered to include in the web page.  
  
  
  
Which one to use where? I guess the JS codes is better for tracking? But does is work everywhere or just on landing pages?

The JS one is a bit more performant than the tracking pixel in my tests. It works everywhere, where you place the JS code. So also on your site.
