# Want to create a segment using today's date as a filter

Hello everyone!  
  
  
  
So, I’m using Mautic to reach out to potential customers that have specific event dates (races, weddings, etc.). I want to create a segment that will filter out clients whose event date has passed. I have a custom field of “event date” created, but when I try to setup a filter, it wants a specific date, which isn’t helpful for me. I want to have this segment constantly update by including clients whose date has passed.

Hi, I just came across this, I know it is quite old, but for reference and maybe it helps others.

You can use the term ‘today’. Described here:
