**Your software**
My Mautic version is: 6.0.7
My PHP version is: 8.3
I installed Mautic via: command line

I got a notice that version 7 is available for upgrading. I was able to puzzle through the initial install and have been using Mautic for several months now. However, I’m unsure whether I can upgrade without breaking things. It appears that

The following warning appears on the upgrade announcement page: **Updating Mautic through the user interface is deprecated and won’t be supported anymore in Mautic 5.0. For more information and to learn what you can do to prepare, please read the [documentation](https://mau.tc/switch-to-composer).**

However, there is **also a button that says “Update Now”** right below that warning.

I don’t have a “heavy” install - +/- 600 contacts and a few assets/campaigns so far.

**So my question is this:** Realistically, I think it’s more likely I break things by trying to do it myself via the command line. What are the real risks for using the web-browser upgrade option? I do know how to download the database as a backup.

I dug into that originally but honest truth… that’s what scares me. I can probably figure out how to copypaste text into the command line, but I don’t know what I’m doing and if I screw something up, I would have no idea how to fix it. It would be great to do the web-based upgrade… If the risk were relatively low.
