# Will mautic work after mysql-Upgrade from 5.7.43 to 8.0.37?

**Your software**  
My Mautic version is: 4.2.0  
My PHP version is: 7.4.33  
My Database type and version is: mySQL 5.7.43

**Your problem**  
My problem is: I know I should not have done it - but I did. I run mautic on a shared hosting and it did well over the last years. But now my hoster is going to upgrade the mySQL-Version to 8.0.37 - will mautic “survive” this? Has anyone experience with this? Can I prepare anything to fix any upcoming problems? Any feedback is very appreciated!
