The moment we’ve been waiting for is here - voting is now officially open for our 2025 Council Elections! 
We are incredibly fortunate to have three outstanding candidates who have stepped forward to serve our community. Each brings unique experience, expertise, and a compelling vision for Mautic’s future.
Meet Your candidates
Ekkehard GĂĽmbel (Ekke)
Location: Hannover, Germany
Affiliation: Leuchtfeuer Digital Marketing
Who is Ekke?
Ekke is our 2024 Mautician of the Year, co-hosts the popular Mauticast podcast, and leads one of Germany’s premier Mautic integrator agencies. He’s previously served on the Council, currently leads the Community Team, and has been contributing to open source for years. Under his leadership, the Leuchtfeuer team makes substantial contributions to the Mautic project, and he’s actively mentoring the next generation of contributors.
His vision: Building a truly global community with strong regional and local chapters, while stabilizing Mautic’s financial foundation.
What he brings: Agency leadership experience, hands-on open source contributions, previous Council service, and proven Community Team leadership.
Why vote for Ekke? As his nominator Sven Döring notes: “Ekke is deeply invested in Mautic’s success and knows how to get things done. I’m confident the project is in good hands with him on the Council.”
Stipica Grgic
Location: Zagreb, Croatia
Affiliation: None declared
Who is Stipica?
Stipica has been actively using Mautic since version 2.x and engages daily with the platform. While he hasn’t been a code contributor, he’s an active listener on both the Mautic Forums and Slack channels, following the voice of users closely.
His vision: Making Mautic much easier to install with headache-free upgrades, creating a more friendly and powerful interface for marketers, and removing Mautic from relative obscurity to make it a top choice even among commercial options. As he puts it: “Power to the people!”
What he brings: Decades of experience in digital product management and digital marketing, where he’s built large web applications with hundreds of thousands of users and personally managed millions in yearly marketing budgets. His agency work gives him hands-on understanding of what really works and what’s needed.
Why vote for Stipica? “You should vote for me if you want someone who represents the common users of Mautic and who sees an unbrushed diamond in the making.”
Sven Döring
Location: Norderstedt, Germany
Affiliation: VML Germany, moorwald
Who is Sven?
Sven first encountered Mautic in 2021 and was immediately drawn to the openness of the platform and the strength of its community. He’s since become one of the top contributors to the project. He served as Marketing Assistant Team Lead from September 2023 to May 2024, and has been Marketing Team Lead since June 2024. Under his leadership, the Marketing Team has grown in structure, visibility, and collaboration.
His Vision: Strengthening Mautic’s position as the leading open source marketing automation platform by growing a strong, inclusive, and sustainable community. He believes that from a strong community comes an even stronger product, ensuring Mautic remains accessible to organizations of all sizes.
What He Brings: Deep understanding of both strategic and practical community needs, experience leading international teams, and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset. His background with global agencies and enterprises means he understands the procurement processes that larger organizations navigate when considering open source - a valuable perspective for making Mautic viable for bigger players.
Why vote for Sven? As his nominator Madlen Friedrich shares: “Sven brings extensive experience working in diverse, multinational environments and consistently demonstrates his dedication to the success of the Mautic project, always putting collaboration and shared value first.”

The Mautic Council plays a crucial role in shaping our community’s future. Council members serve 3-year terms and are responsible for:
