Advice Needed! How to correctly seperate Contacts / Associates

Your problem
My problem is:
I have tracking set to add new contacts from a subscribe form on my site. All works well here they are added to a campaign and feed the required emails + points added. I also have over 40,000 companies (Bars, restaurants, hotels etc… that are listed and searchable on my website for any of our visitors. What I wish to do is to add these 40,000 to Mautic but keep them separate from the visitors to our website. I wish to offer them up to a different campaign and corresponding drip-feed emails/broadcasts. I am not sure the correct way to go about this? Do I add them as companies? Or as contacts and somehow tag them to separate them? You help and advise would be much appreciated?

There are a number of ways to do this.

  1. Add them with a tag and to a specific segment
  2. Create a custom field and mark them appropriately and add to a segment.

I would add them as contacts and associate them to a company.

You can then use your segments both in segment blasts or in campaigns to send out different communications to different users
