Block Builder has no font options?

Your software
My Mautic version is: 4.4.3
My PHP version is: 8.0.20
My Database type and version is: MariaDB v10.6.8

Your problem
My problem is:
Super weird, and not finding it in the forums or Google Search… When I go to use the block editor, I have very limited text manipulation options. Mainly, I have not option to change font size or font type? I know these are options in GrapesJS as I can use them on their demo, I just don’t get those options on my builder! Anyone have any insight into this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

These errors are showing in the log:
No errors in log

Steps I have tried to fix the problem: Researched, tested functions in GrapesJS Demo editor, opened multiple templates and tried editing text to see if options appear in different scenarios.

Thanks!

Mike

Hi,
First click on the text block.
Then on the right upper corner click on the paintbrush icon.
Choose Typography.
Good luck.

Thank you sir for solving my problem! Although that does work, it requires a few extra clicks. Is there not a way to maybe edit the WYSIWYG editor menu? If not, no worries, it just looks like a doable thing since GrapesJS has it on their menu. Thanks for the help and no worries if there’s not another option!

It is logical to have font, size and other settings in the right side, as they all apply to the whole block. MJML won’t easily allow you to choose different fornt within a paragraph, or column. The restriction is for your own benefit - it’s harder to make ugly and non-responsive emails.
In my opinion this view is superior to any other editor, where you can’t even create 3d effects via css for text.

I actually wasn’t aware that MJML restricted choosing different fonts attributes within a paragraph or column… that makes sense then! Definitely appreciate your time, sir.

That because there is a limitation how text can be styled in a paragraph if you wanted it support on all widely used email client out there especially the coughMS Outlookcough which is still using IE engine … so it not limited to just MJML only. Even HTML encounter those bugs as well too.

MJML just make it more of a guarantee that your texts how you style it in its’ editor box will appear as it is in most widely used email client.

I had to fix one of my Mautic template today because of the annoying font “sliced off” bug only found on Windows Outlook clients.
