Caution: Posts May Be Silently Removed - Backup Recommended (Resolved)

Hello,

I recommend that all members of the community keep backups of their important posts on the forum in case the content is silently removed by the project’s management team.

This has happened to me twice recently - you have all been warned!

Hi @andrew_c3 perhaps you could DM me (or share more explicitly in this thread if you prefer to keep the dialogue public to avoid consipiracy theories) the posts you feel have been removed - I’ve just asked the forum mods and none of us recall deleting your posts. Also just to reiterate, the forum moderators are all volunteers other than myself, not the ‘project’s management team’.

Discourse does operate a pretty effective automatic triaging system which can result in posts that appear to be AI generated, spam, or otherwise off topic, being held or deleted. This doesn’t generally happen for established posts though, only incoming new posts, and I don’t see any such listed against your profile but we can dive a bit deeper with Discourse’s support team if you can be specific about the titles and dates of the missing posts.

I did check and I see only three topics of yours which have been deleted, all of which say they were deleted by you, the author.

I checked one of those, which appears like this:

They show up as ‘1 hidden reply’ in the post stream, if you don’t expand it:

Hopefully we can quickly get to the bottom of where your posts have disappeared once you supply more detail.

Hello @andrew_c3,

I believe this post is misleading and spreading false rumors. As MODs - myself included - we have no interest in silencing anyone, quite the opposite: we actively encourage everyone to share their thoughts on Mautic, suggest improvements, report bugs, discuss ideas, and highlight 3rd party tools or plugins, among much more.

Ruth has already explained the situation quite in detail.

When forum guidelines aren’t followed - and this applies equally to me, you, and every other member - posts may be removed, either by a Mod or automatically. Spreading misinformation doesn’t serve the community, and it feels like a deliberate attempt to divide what we’ve all been working hard to build together.

Best,
Ricardo

Hello,

I have raised a legitimate concern that some posts may be being removed without clear notification, and I feel this has been dismissed as misinformation. That is frustrating and disappointing.

I was willing to work with Ruth’s request to investigate the issue properly, but at this point I am reconsidering whether it is worth the time and effort.

Going forward, I will be keeping detailed records of my posts so I can verify what has been published or removed. I would also encourage others who are concerned about transparency to do the same.

@andrew_c3, you’re free to track whatever you like. That said, forum guidelines still apply to everyone equally - with records or not. Ruth offer to investigate is the right channel for this, and it still stands.
