Steps 1-6 no problem.
Step 7 doesn’t happen. There is no “new menu item called Cronfig” in my Settings drop-down.
So what now?

OK, this is weird.
I deleted the plugin folder and THEN I got a new menu item called Config in my Settings drop-down. I clicked it and got the error “I think I broke it” – I assume because the folder was absent.
So I re-uploaded the folder, renamed it, cleared the cache, then clicked the Config menu item, and the login worked. I got my API key, and then got to the Cronfig setup screen.
Problem solved…?
Oh wow, it doesn’t work for the new version. THAT’S GOOD TO FIND OUT FINALLY. OUCH!
Cronfig works on Mautic 2+. Please look for official documentation rather than old forum posts.
