Email Preheaders?

I’m not seeing how to implement/modify email preheaders. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Google search didn’t provide an answer. Thanks!

Can’t figure anything out, so I’m just make sure the first sentence of the email is what I want in the preheader, as that’s what’s reading in.

I’ve created a feature request on github a while back https://github.com/mautic/mautic/issues/2800.
You can implement it for now by using codemode and the preheader artibute.

Thanks for adding this as a feature request, @merlijn – I’d like to see this too. I noticed that MailChimp recently added a very similar feature.

Thanks @merlijn! I’m cool with code mode, but can you expound on how to add the attribute? Is it a class?

I’m not sure about the attribute @merlijn referenced, but this is what I typically use: https://litmus.com/community/snippets/1-hidden-preheader-text

Also, some great info about preview text: https://litmus.com/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-preview-text-support

Cool, thanks man! I’m a little afraid of the hidden text route as I’ve heard it ups SPAM scores. Have you run into that? I’ll test it out.

Mhmm, I’ve heard about that, although I’ve never had an issue personally or with my clients. Not sure how much it’s considered these days. For example, MailChimp now offers the ability to include preview text along with a subject line, and it’s always hidden.

But yeah definitely test it out and see how it goes in your situation

I have found pre text super helpful in driving email open rates

I created a very quick tutorial video on how to do it with the new builder.
