Form Action to PURGE a contact's field value

My idea is: Like we can UPDATE a specific value for a contact, it would be nice to be able to DELETE that value. (Not sure it should be part of the “UPDATE” action - might overload the UI)

I think these groups of people would benefit from this idea: Campaign designers

Why I think they would benefit from this idea: It’s a missing feature, people are looking for it. Maybe they give up, maybe they are forced to use silly workarounds.

Update Contact and Make field Empty from Campaign

Your software My Mautic version is: 5.1.3 My PHP version is: 7.0.33-0ubuntu0.16.04.9 Your problem My problem is: In a campagne I want to open a Segment en delete the contents of a certain contact field via the Update Contact Action. These errors are showing in the log: Steps I have tried to fix the problem: I tried to use the quotation marks, but it still shows a value.

This exists as a pull request, but needs to be updated to make sure it’s still compatible/relevant with M3: https://github.com/mautic/mautic/pull/6805

@kuzmany did a ton of work on this and it looks great. I’ve been expecting this for the last three M2 releases and was very disappointed it didn’t make it in. I would have gladly contributed testing or help had I known it was going to repeatedly get bumped at the last minute.

I’d love to know what we need to do to make this a priority in M3.
