macOS Movabe Blocking cokkies & fingerprint

Hi all,

I was watching the keynote announcement and notice the big privacy enhancement starting macOS Mojave (Safari)

  • Safari start asking users to accept cookies or not
  • Safari will block generating fingerprint to identify the user

Obviously, this has to do with being compliant with EU’s GDPR.
This Apple’s action makes sense to me after seeing Facebook’s scandal by Cambridge Analytica.

But my concern started to rise.

  • Will other browsers follow the trend of blocking cookies and fingerprints?
  • How much this affect Mautic tracking?

It may be too early to say since we haven’t seen the detail of how macOS Movaje’s Safari blocks cookies and fingerprint.

But it’s good time to start discussing how Mautic should take as an approach.
