I found http://www.piesync.com/ as a great alternative to Zapier. The main advantage seems to be that it’s more specialized and provide a deeper integration between a number of services. However, Mautic is not currently on their list.
If you as me can see value in PieSync please reach out to their support (info@piesync.com) and suggest Mautic. They already looking into the API, but I’m sure it would help if we put a bit of pressure on them by having more people contact them.

Hmm, I tried them and wasn’t impressed. Maybe in a couple of years they will get there. I am all for getting Mautic connected to as many services as possible, but I think it is a bit of a long stretch to say piesync is even close to an alternative to Zapier.
