I would like to be able to send email to a specific date: let’s say christmas or new year , every year. Is it possible to achieve this ?

You can set email to be sent at specific date in Campaigns module, but not recurring every year.

The workaround would be to set up Christmas/New Year email and in the same campaign add next emails to be sent at relative date 1 year later. Set up as many steps as you need to cover multiple years.
