Hi Support,

What BC means in Mautic’s official documentation

Consulting information about contact tracking in the official documentation of Mautic I see that reference is made to “BC” in terms of cookies but I am not clear what BC refers to.

Hello @gnumax,

I think it’s an acronym. I can’t tell you what it means.
It allows other software to read the cookie and exploit it.

It means backwards compatibility - so in those cases the cookie value was used in older Mautic versions and we still have it in the docs, in case there might still be old data using those values.
