Why is the system creating anonymous users from IP?

I started seeing these users being created. They have no information save for just an IP.

Where are these users coming from and why is the system creating them?

interesting… thanks!

@chizuoka@gmail.com this is how it is supposed to work. Anonymous users may become identified leads later on. The goal is to have a user history, even if the lead gets know to you later…

@chizuoka@gmail.com First, these are not “users”, they are anonymous visitors to the site that you are tracking. I think these are robots crawling the website. Also, I’m quite positive the hits from Mountain View, California are from Google.

I have them too. Piling up in the database. Most are robots. There should be a way to prevent this or at least give the admin the choice to have them tracked or not since it’s the administrator who has to tediously remove them when they get into the 10’s of thousands on an active site.
