Campaign Builder - Contact Segments vs Campaign Forms? Please Help!

Hello! I’m new to Mautic and need some help! In Campaign Builder > Contact Sources, there are two options Contact Segments and Campaign Forms.

  1. How do I know when to use them?

  2. Why would I use a Contact Segment OR Why would I use Campaign Forms?

  3. What are the general best practices for both?

In short you can use both.

  1. A form is usually to collect emails on a website, a contact form.
  2. A Campaign form is when you want to start a campaign right away after submission.
  3. To start a campaign with a segment happens, when you want to communicate with your current list. Maybe you want to filter the segment based on their visiting habits or custom field values.
