tried using “yes” or “true” or “1” none of them seem to work
No logs show, and confirmed they aren’t entered added to lead_donotcontact
Other data in the import are imported just fine

You’re correct, it’s a defect that was captured and verified.
That’s sad, do not contact is a crucial aspect of any marketing efforts, it’s not even a “feature”

You could probably work around it. Create a new custom field with a unique value. Then import those contacts. Create a segment that filters on that custom field. Then maybe create a campaign that says if in x segment, then mark as do not contact.
Then you could delete the segment
