Creating Contacts with Forms

I want to create (or update) a contact when a form is submitted.

In the docs (https://mautic.org/docs/en/forms/manage_forms.html) I read :

To have your form create or update contacts (in order to update, there must be a matching email), add the Create/Update Contact submit action. Map the fields from the form to your contact fields.

But there is no ‘Create/Update Contact’ in the dropdown list, see the scrreenshot in the docs.

someone…??

Same issue here. Information entered into the mautic form I created (first name, email) is added to the contact but for some reason the contact is not changed from anonymous to identified.

I’m pretty sure the workflow is that when a contact submits information to the system for the first time their information is mapped to their new created account; if they then submit another contact form their details will be merged or updated if there are new or modified fields, this helps with progressive profiling.

I hope this helps.

I’m new to Mautic and this might be related to what I’ve been trying to figure out: When does Mautic convert an anonymous visitor to known contact?

Other marketing automation systems I used track anonymous visitors and then when the complete a form or login they flip to known. If I someone reads a marketing email in the same web browser that’s used to visit the site they might also be changed to known.

when they fill a form they will be Know Contact
