Custom Objects plugin can not like contact to item

Custom Objects plugin provide us with an option to link an item to contact in Campaign builder. However when I try to do that I get no option to select my desired item as I type its name. Can anyone confirm if it’s a bug in the plugin or am I doing something wrong.

There is a forum post on this with a link to the GitHub patch (which does not work for me:-( )Campaign Action Link to CustomObject - Anyone tried this?
