Fresh 3.02 install results in page not found after completing wizard

Ubunto 18.04 running in Virtualbox
*My PHP version is: 7.2.24
*My MySQL/MariaDB version is: 10.3

This is a fresh install of 3.02. I was able to get all the way through the wizard and then the last button, instead of sending me to my new dashboard, sent me to a page not found.

It is sending me here: http://192.168.1.244/s/dashboard instead of http://192.168.1.244/index.php/s/dashboard. (missing the /index.php)

It actually did this on the initial login page but I was able to fake it out by ‘inspecting’ the source and modifying the action of the form URL to include the index.php, so that I’m technically at least able to log in.

My guess is this has something to do with Virtual Host File, but not really sure. By continuing to add ‘/index.php/s…’ to URLs I was able to get to the config page. I tried to add /index.php to the Site URL, (it was showing just the IP), but I couldn’t save it because it is saved via ajax so my ‘inspect’ trick doesn’t work.

Any ideas? Thank you!

For Reference:

<VirtualHost *:80>
        DocumentRoot /var/www/html
        ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log
        CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined

        <Directory /var/www/html/>
                Options FollowSymLinks
                Order allow,deny
                allow from all
                DirectoryIndex index.php

                </Directory>

</VirtualHost>

Hi,

I’ve hit the same problem and fixed it by copying over the .htaccess file of the Mautic 2 installation into the Mautic 3 base directory. Here is its content:

# Use the front controller as index file. It serves as a fallback solution when
# every other rewrite/redirect fails (e.g. in an aliased environment without
# mod_rewrite). Additionally, this reduces the matching process for the
# start page (path "/") because otherwise Apache will apply the rewriting rules
# to each configured DirectoryIndex file (e.g. index.php, index.html, index.pl).
#DirectoryIndex index.php

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On

    # Set Authorization header for OAuth1a for when php is running under fcgi
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} .+
    RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization}]

    # Determine the RewriteBase automatically and set it as environment variable.
    # If you are using Apache aliases to do mass virtual hosting or installed the
    # project in a subdirectory, the base path will be prepended to allow proper
    # resolution of the app.php file and to redirect to the correct URI. It will
    # work in environments without path prefix as well, providing a safe, one-size
    # fits all solution. But as you do not need it in this case, you can comment
    # the following 2 lines to eliminate the overhead.
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI}::$1 ^(/.+)/(.*)::\2$
    RewriteRule ^(.*) - [E=BASE:%1]

    # Redirect to URI without front controller to prevent duplicate content
    # (with and without `/app.php`). Only do this redirect on the initial
    # rewrite by Apache and not on subsequent cycles. Otherwise we would get an
    # endless redirect loop (request -> rewrite to front controller ->
    # redirect -> request -> ...).
    # So in case you get a "too many redirects" error or you always get redirected
    # to the start page because your Apache does not expose the REDIRECT_STATUS
    # environment variable, you have 2 choices:
    # - disable this feature by commenting the following 2 lines or
    # - use Apache >= 2.3.9 and replace all L flags by END flags and remove the
    #   following RewriteCond (best solution)
    RewriteCond %{ENV:REDIRECT_STATUS} ^$
    RewriteRule ^index\.php(/(.*)|$) %{ENV:BASE}/$2 [R=301,L]

    # If the requested filename exists, simply serve it.
    # We only want to let Apache serve files and not directories.
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f
    RewriteRule .? - [L]

    # Rewrite all other queries to the front controller.
    RewriteRule .? %{ENV:BASE}/index.php [L]

So maybe .htaccess file is simply missing from the ZIP file ?

Thanks, @maumatic and sorry for the late reply. I’ve had to switch computers three times since then so totally lost that work, but will remember this next time I try to get it running.

Also, I have since discovered the ddev environment which has been much easier to use than Virtualbox .

I have just done a fresh install on ccentos 8 following https://www.osradar.com/install-mautic-open-source-marketing-automation-tool-on-rhel-8-centos-8/ guide and i am getting a similar issue after completing the wizard; it sends me to a page /s/dashboard with text “Not Found the requested URL /s/dashboard was not found on this server.”
I have tried copying the htaccess file that mautic recommended but have the same issue.
Does any one have a solution to this?

FIXED page not found
Change the conf file in
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
changed
AllowOverride None

to

AllowOverride All

All working like a dream.
