Friendly Captcha for Mautic forms

Data privacy and GDPR compliance are two topics that every company operating in the EU market should take seriously. Unfortunately, current CAPTCHA solutions such as hCaptcha or reCAPTCHA are only compliant with EU regulations if the site user gives consent to load these libraries. In practice, this means that site owners need to block the form—or at least the submit button—until the user has given consent to load the CAPTCHA libraries.

That is why I present Mautic FriendlyCaptcha. This FriendlyCaptcha integration works with Mautic 5 as well as Mautic 6 and comes with three different modes.

The default mode, called Legacy for compatibility reasons, loads all scripts directly from your Mautic instance. No CDN is used, and no external connections are made.

In Automatic mode, you embed the FriendlyCaptcha scripts yourself. This way, you are not dependent on plugin updates when the script version changes.

Last but not least, Manual mode. In this mode, the plugin only performs the verification process, while you are responsible for setting up FriendlyCaptcha on your website.

You can find the plug-in on GitHub

Hi dband, thank you for you work. I cannot find any documentation how to install this plugin. Could you please explain?

Oh sorry, you should be able to download the latest release, unzip the archive, and copy the folder into the plugins folder of your Mautic installation. Then you need to change the name of the folder to MauticFriendlyCaptchaBundle. After that you need to press the install/update button in the Mautic web interface under plug-ins and maybe refresh the cache via command line.

I will add these instructions to the read me.
