General design settings inc. colors and fonts then apply these to web parts like focuses

My idea is:

Part 1: Design settings

  • Provide a way to create a preset colour palette.
  • Allow a way for an admin to add fonts then set the default fonts (serif and sans-serif) for web parts. Include clear language about this not applying to emails.

Part 2: Display presets in web part settings

Make the presets available as options when choosing colours and fonts. For example in focus items.

I think these groups of people would benefit from this idea:

Site administrators who are trying to delegate design tasks to non-technical users without losing the look and feel of the site. Users who benefit from presets rather than being asked to look at colour codes.

Why I think they would benefit from this idea:

Users can create attractive web parts successfully with greater speed.

Add a focus settings tab in the system settings. Allow admins to set the default colour and font for focus items.
